I'm trying to get the security for my groups internal web site and I'm fairly new to this. I've been messing around with some of the build in members and roles things in ASP.NET and I have a question about Windows Authentication. I'd like the website to digest the login credentials from the users windows login and then be able to pass the username to my SQL2000 database (contacts) table for information about the roles of each user and then still be able to use the build in memberships and roles tools in ASP.NET to control what navigation controls are available to each user. Is this possible?
