I'm a C# developer, but I focus more on forms applications. I've ASP.NET unleashed, and a couple other books, none of which seem to help me understand how to work with membership and profiles in the real world. I know that Membership.CreateUser(variables) creates a user. I am assuming the Membership.ValidateUser() is how to log in.
Maybe I can tell you what I'm trying to do and I can get some advise.
I know by default VWD creates a database for the membership, so here comes the questions.
First, if I add custom tables to the ASP.NET DB will it get messed up?
Second, Using linq I know have to declare the DataContext, etc, and I know how to write the queries to display data. But when a user clicks the "creat user" button that I have the account IS created, successfuly at that, but I want to know how to create the user, AND assign them a (int)Libra ...
