Peormance + Reliability Question : Storing Cart Object inside Sql Server

Hi all,

In my one year of professional career, I am first time going to create a shopping cart based application. surprised na !!!

Well,

Till now in ppl were using temporary table to maintain Cart but now I am thinking to store the Cart object inside Sql Server. I know how to do so but my real question is will it be reliable to store the Cart object in sql server? What could be performance as lots of data will be transfered from Database server to Application Server.

In my Sql Server Database I have Table

tbl_Cart

crt_Id int Indentity(1,1),

crt_CartId varchar(100),

crt_ProductObject varbinary(MAX),

crt_BillingShippingObject varbinary(MAX),

crt_CCObject varbinary(MAX) -- Credit Card Object

If you have any good/bad experice then plz share it with me.
