User control declaring event handler for page delegate

Hi,

 

I have a user control on a page, the page declares a delegate which I want to the user control to declare.

So in OnLoad of the user control I need to do something like

(Pages_Strategies)Page).ScenarioPeriodChanged += new Pages_Strategies.OnSelectedIndexChanged(ScenarioPeriods_SelectedIndexChanged);

 The problem here is that Pages_Strategies is not referenced, and i tried to add a reference the user control .ascx but it moaned about circular references.

Was wondering if anyone knows how to get around this?
