I am creating many controls based on some data from database. Say like facebook which gets all messages after logging in. The controls like image, links, etc for each message are dynamically added. In ASP.NET every help that I look for dynamically added controls, they all say I should create these dynamically created controls again everytime there is a post back. Isnt this most inefficient? If there are 100 mesages, I have to query the database and recreate controls for all 100 messages before handle the events generated by those controls? Is there an alternative way of keeping the dynamically added control in view state using EnableViewState property of each control?.
