Hi all,
Can anyone help me create a sample signin / authentication pages for my ASP.net MVC C# web site. I want to get the user information from my database. only some pages will be public and other should only be seen when signed in.
I have already got information from my DB displaying on the public pages so I know I am connecting to the DB just fine my problem is creating the authentication and authorization part.
I have searched the web and alot of what I have found is confusing to me so I am wanting someone to tell me step by step what I need to do.
I have looked at this.

but even this gives me an error when I try to use it.
All I am wanting is a safe and sample way I can can usernames and passwords from my DB, check with the user name and password that was enterd and then authentication each time they display some pages.
