I have 2 computers under Windows 8, in home group configuration, I have a SQLExpress (2008 R2) DB on the desktop, and I need to access it from the laptop (simple standard exercise :-)
The computers got file sharing access working. On the desktop I start the SQL Network & Named pipe services, and I add a private authorization to sqlservr.exe in the firewall (also add port
1433).
On the laptop I try to connect via Visual studio (2010), using server explorer.
1- If i try to connect to "desktop", as a server name, I have "Named Pipes Provider, error 40..."
2 - If i try to connect to "desktop\SQLEXPRESS", as a server name, I have "SQL Network Interface, error 26.."
Please any help ?
