Hi,
after testing my web application on Windows Server 2008 I noticed that not all EventLogEntryTypes are recognized by the Event Viewer in Windows Server 2008. Only icons for Error, Warning and Information are displayed. In case of SuccessAudit and FailureAudit the log entries are written but only the Information icon is displayed for these entries. On XP all icons are recognized correctly in the Event Viewer. So what might be the reason for this problem? Possible .Net framework bug in Windows Server 2008?
I am writing to custom logs with the following kind of code (which should be ok):
STLogPermission.WriteEntry("This is an Error message.", EventLogEntryType.Error, 1);
STLogPermission.WriteEntry("This is a FailureAudit message.", EventLogEntryType.FailureAudit, 2);
STLogPermission.WriteEntry("This is an Information message.", ...
Go to the complete details ...
