Hello,
I have a Submit Button, a TextBox and a RequiredFieldValidator server controls.  The submit button disables when you click it, even if you leave the textbox field blank.  However, I only want it to disable if you filled out a value in the textbox, that's why I put a required field validator.  After it gets disabled, new code would be inserted which would cause it to enter the value of the textbox in a sql server database table.  Let me know, try it out thanks :)
