Hello There:
In my Page I'm using a GridView as the master to display data and a FormView as the detail to display every single record and to edit and insert. In my FormView I have a field "Item_type" its type in database is char(2) values must be "C" or "N" for example, but to make it comprehensif I maked it as a combo where I have added 2 items of text "Item1" value "C" and "item2" value "N". This combo is put it in InsertTemplate and in ItemTemplate. when inserting everything is alright but when selecting from the gridview to display the corresponding record in the formview it give me the message
DropDownList1 has a selected value wich is invalid because it does not exists in the list of items
knowing that I have set the binding for the dropdownlist to the appropriate field
