Keep track of file downloads

Hi all wondering if you can help!

I have an asp.net app which houses video files.  People get a username and password to download a file.  I need to keep track of how many times a file has been downloaded.  What would be the best way to achieve this?  I have complete access to the windows 2003 server.

Thanks in advance,

Stephen.
