Usercontrol wrapped in namespace cannot be accessed in App_Code class

Hi,
I have all my usercontrols wrapped in a namespace, however I have a shared function stored in an App_Code class which needs to use typeof keyword with the types of the usercontrols in the namespace.
However, the namespace is not visible within my class? How do I get access to this namespace?
