to work properly? i've seen quite a few threads/articles that have 'solutions' but the few that i've tried haven't worked. i know there's a few pieces needed to get this to work (including a Forms auth setting in web.config) but i'm still not sure whether i have to write/retri eve the cookie myself or if the provider does that behind the scenes, etc. any help would be appreciated (detailed please).
btw, i'm using MembershipProvider not SqlMembershipProvider. i should also mention that i'm already using cookies to store a critical value that we need to persist after a session timeout.
