problem of reading a value from a text box

hiii to all professionals..just help me out in the following code.....i just explain you the problem first.....in my page i want 2 text boxes to be read only so that user can't put any data directly.....i am giving him pop up menu from there he has to select the value.....when i put the readonly property to true...its giving me the blank string....when dont apply readonly true its working fine but in that case user can put anything he wants and i dont want to validate the date coz i have used third party api for the pop up calender.....so it will be time taking to validate manually.....here is ma code
