Web-Services vs components/SDK/API

Hi,

I'm working on an application which serves as Middle-Ware for many client applications. Right now, these are Activex DLL's.

� 

When we are working on to finalising� on a single architecture for the entire Middle-Ware (where� most of the services� are developed as Web-Services), we were struck whether to migrate these DLL's also into web-services.

� 

So I want to know "When shall I distribute my Middle-Ware entities as components/SDK/API and when as Web Services?"

� 

And also if possible please provide any links/articles where in I can� get some valid points.

�
