I have a pretty good hunch that this is the problem but I am unable to figure out the solution.
At first, I noticed that my LoginView never showed the LoggedIn template. I also tried experimenting with this bit in several places.

Taking a look at the asp.net User tables, I see that the LastLoginDate updates itself successfully so that leads me to believe that they are actually getting logged in. Is this a correct assumption? I also verified that the records show they are approved and not locked out.
I'm also using the TableProfileProvider solution so I can map properties to their own column. I am suspicious my problem may be incorrect setup ...
