I am in the planning process of a profile based website, though I have came against a snag on how I would let a user automatically create a subdomain to the domain name of the site.
Here is what I need to happen:
I have a domain name (eg garydevenay.com) and on my website I have a create and account form with two fields:
subdomain (eg mysite.garydevenay.com)
password. When the user fills in the form I would like for the subdomain they user has entered to be automatically created (and certain files transfered over but this can wait for now)
For Example:
I enter gary.garydevenay.com into the subdomain box
and 1234567 into the password box
The server should now create the subdomain gary.garydevenay.com
...
