I have a dropdown and a textbox on the page. A user can select an item from the dropdown and enter some data relevant to it in the textbox and submit it. When the user selects the same item from the dropdown again, the textbox must be populated with the data entered earlier.
I have written a function to retrieve the data and called it in the OnSelectedIndexChanged property. And it works. The problem is that for the OnSelectedIndexChanged to work, the AutoPostBack must be set to true. And i cannot afford Postbacks. I know this can be solved using the UpdatePanel in AJAX, but unfortunately i cant use AJAX in this particular application.
Any workaround (possibly Javascript ?) would be greatly appreciated. Go to the complete details ...
