I'm using Expression Web (EW) and trying to setup a Login asp.net type control following instructions of a tutorial.
I set up the WSAT (Web Site Administration Tool) as required. As a result, it generated a web.config file, next to my default.aspx and login.aspx file all located in the membership folder, which is the web site. When running the default.aspx file in a browser, it produces an error, pointing to <authentication mode="Forms" with a hint:.
Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as
allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can
be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in
IIS.
Anyone has a suggestion as to how to solve this problem?
Why IIS, when asp.net? What virtual directory has not been configured?
I can't even find anything in IIS which would refer to my "membership" site.
