Someone has managed to hack my web applciation, but I can't figure out how... understanding what they've done may help, but I;m lost even on that score! No data (files or database) sems to have been affected; all that has been done as far as I can tell is that they have created *dozens* if not hundreds of (apparently) empty folders - all underneath a new one they created wiht no (apparent) name.
I say "apparent" because the folder appears to have no name in Windows Explorer. If I F2 it, it then appears to consist of a single blank space. But strangely, if I hover my mouse over the folder icon, the tootip show it to be called " .SySteM", and the folder (along with all it's similarly named subfolders) are takling up about 6GB of disk space!! (Even though they all appear empty... perhaps one, buried deep, is full, but I haven't found it...)
