How to get values from a check box with DataReader

I am using data reader to get values. My issues is how to get the checkbox values This is a portion where I am struggling cmd = New SqlCommand("SELECT EmployeeEmpID,EmpLName,FirstFName,LaborType", conn) lrd = cmd.ExecuteReader() While lrd.Read() empId.Text = lrd.GetValue(0).ToString() empLname.Text = lrd.GetValue(1).ToString() empFname.Text = lrd.GetValue(2).ToString() empLabor.Check = lrd.GetByte(3).ToString()----->This is a checkbox and I am not sure how to get the value.
