I have a composite control (basic date control) that contains a requiredfieldvalidator and a rangevalidator. There is also a button that will save the date that was entered by the user. When this button is pressed I want to display a confirmation message via javascript. All this works fine except if any of the validation fails and the user selects the button the confirmation page still displays. Now I can look through the DOM within the javascript to see if there are any validation errors and not display the confirm message, but I am looking for a cleaner way of doing this.
Is there a way I can post to the server with the button, check the validation controls, and depending on their status render a javascript confirm message or not on the client. Is there a way to do this?
