I don't know if this is possible.
I just want a way to get the current windows login name. i will use my own login system but would like to get users to the right place of the site if they have a windows login name.
On my local dev server i can do this just by changing the authentication mode to windows and not restricting anything.
On an external web server that doesn't work. It seems to be all or nothing with all meaning that IIS will request a windows username and login to access the site (if i turn off anonymous access) or i won't get any username back if i have anonymous access on.
So is this simply not possible?
Would it be possible over an intranet setting (eventually this is where it will end up but for testing i'm using my external webserver)
