Enabling/Disabling controls based on business logic!

Hi,

I have a page which has two sections on it. Section 1 is always visible and section 2 is visible only when certain controls are clicked in section 1. section 2 has a 4 controls controls i.e. a text box to enter a value, an Add button to update db, a required validator for the text box and cancel button.

Cancel button should make section 2 invisible.

Add button will make section 2 invisible only if database operation was successful.

When page loads, the section 2 is not visible. On a click of certain control in section 1, it will become visible. Let's say Section 2 is visible and I clicked to cancel button, the required validaor is in effect and will not call Click event handler of the Cancel button.

So on Cancel button I will not be able to hide section 2

Any idea how can I resolve this issue.
