Need Help With Cross Page Postback

I am trying to do cross page pstback from a page with a formview.

I am basing my approach on an MSDN article at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178139(VS.80).aspx

The item of interest on the source page is a bound label inside a formview control  inside a content control.

I am trying to capture the label.text to use as a select parameter on the target page,- to avoid using querystring and bein subject

to SQL injection. This seems like an important skill/approach to master. Any help/assistance will be greatly appreciated. TIA-Steve
