I will try to phrase this as well as I can.
I have, in the most basic terms, an ASP page with a button.
Hit the button and it calls a web service method which will take anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours to complete.
What I'm wanting to do is perform this in a new thread so that the page will carry on working.
This in itself isn't a problem - I'm sure I can russle up some code to do this.
What I need is to be able to keep track of that thread , to disable certain parts of the page while it is running . Then once it is finished we can carry on as normal.
I dont normally work with ASP so im having trouble merging it together dealing with the threading and the postbacks (no postback would be good on hitting the button if possible)
Oh, and also it would be really nice if refreshing the page would not re-submit it, in essence pressing the button again for me, which it is doing at the moment..
