Export data tables to excel

I am working on fixing a project, what happened is that the excel export function broke when we blocked active x controls.  So what I am trying to do is get a ASP.net data table to export to excel.  THe original code was written in Vb script.  I know how to do a datagrid to excel but not tables, tried to use datagrid examples but they never work.  This is existing vb script, how can I use code behind with the export button to call this function and export the table.  Thanks  This is the error I get with the existing function
