Hi there.
I'm kinda stuck and desperate need of some help here. Here's the basic scenario
1. I have an existing web application that uses the membership, roles, and profiles just fine. It uses SQL-based state/session management as well.
2. Need to develop a webservice that will accept data (from a remote client) and update user information contained across the three categories (Membership, Roles, Profiles) and some site-specific data.
3. I've written my service and tested the non-membership functions on a seperate site. Works fine.
4. When I move the service's code into the main site, all my web method calls die a horrible death returning a html message indicating the service requires "AutoDetectCookies=1" be added to the method call. Seems to me the server is assuming the client has gotta authenticate as it were a web user..
At any rate, I'm baffled, P.O.'ed, ...
