Greetings,

I have a Classic ASP app that handles employee logins and employee time tracking. It is then connected to an ASP.NET (vb, 2.0) app via a button/redirect (passes employeeID) which enables employees to submit various expenses - all using the same database connection.

The .NET app's data access is all via  dataset.xsd. No connection code is written in the .vb code behind pages. Almost all data acces is using FormViews/GridViews with ObjectDataSources pointing to the dataset.xsd

My problem, I am needing to give a set of employee's access to the .NET app, but they need to be using a different database...all code will remain the same and they need to use the same ASP login page/portal that already exists.

My main question, is it possible to change ( or better, choose ) a database connection string in the Web.Config at run time? Ultimately, it would be best to just pass an additional parameter coming from the classic AS ...

Go to the complete details ...
