how to design a form easily?

hello.
i want to design a registration web form . my form has composed of masterpage and inside masterpage i have put
ContentPlaceHolder and inside contentplaceholder i want to have some items as well as :
Name : Textbox
FName:Textbox
....
so i have put a table in the contentplaceholder and wanted to locate above items (Lable & Textbox) into rows and columns of
the table , but for example if i put lable in one of it's columns , the size of other columns will change.
what shall i do to make the column size static ?
and would you please recomend me is there any other better way to design a web form without table , because doing such
these acts on the table are so difficult.
