I want to run some VB.NET code on one of my ASP.NET 3.5 web forms that will find all the files in a subfolder of my website whose filenames contain a range of possible 4-character text strings (they are actually 4-digit identity numbers). I would run a LINQ to SQL query to find all these identity numbers and then loop through the list one at a time. For each pass through this loop I would have to run some sort of subloop to step through all the files in the specified subfolder, looking for a match with any part of the filename (except the extension). The objective at this stage is simply to create a list of the matched files.

However, I'm not sure how to go about searching a subfolder of files to check the filenames. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
