regular expression postal code and country drop down list

ok basically i got a drop down list with germany, japan, france and usa.. so if i select usa i want my regular expression to check for valid USA postal code number in postal code text box.. so if i choose france from drop down list.. it will check for valid france postal code input in textbox.. how do i go about doing this? ...
