Use ModalPopupExtender with Datalist

I put a linkbutton in the datalist template , and add modalPopupExtender to the linkbutton . And I want to update the one database record which fire the ModalPopupExtender according to the value user input int the Popup Panel,but the problem is , How can I locate which row's Linkbutton fire the ModalPopupExtender ?
