assemblyBinding/linkedConfiguration

I looked at the following thread prior to posting this:

I think in the thread above there is a misperception about how the linkedConfiguration element of the Configuration file

is intended to be used.   I also had this same perception.  I figured this element would allow me to link in an external configuration file.  The documentation alludes that this element does in fact include external configuration files into your applications configuration file.

 

However, it then continues with a list of stipulations about the element which I am hoping someone can enligh ...
