I am working on a page where a user will be able to reply to a message. There is a textarea for the user to compose thier message and also a simple security question which is chosen at random by the app. There is seperate textbox where the user will be able to type the answer to the question. When the submit button is clicked, the value entered as the answer will be compared to the answer that is associated with that question in the database.....if the answer is correct the reply message will be saved.
Easy enough, but how effective is my idea against spam and bots, which is the initial purpose for it?
