Convert decimal value from database to money: 18.50 => $18.50 in GridView

Binding a GridView in code behind:
dataAdaptor = new SqlDataAdapter(strSelectForGV, sqlConn);
dataAdaptor.Fill(dataSet, "xxxxx");
gvDynamicSQL.DataSource = dataSet.Tables["xxxxx"].DefaultView;
gvDynamicSQL.DataBind();
One of the columns returned is a decimal value. I would like to display it as a money value in the GridView (i.e. - with a $ prepended to the decimal value).
I know how to do this:  string.Format("{0:C}",decimalvalue ) to an object in memory. But how to do it when it exists within a GridView?
An example would be awesome.
