Users passwords

Hello.
I'm a new to ASP.NET and I'm trying to learn how to use it properly. Could you tell me one thing that's bothering me every time, when a new user is created and this user acqured some role, let's say, "admin", where the user's password will be saved? And how the default password storage can be changed? For instance, I would like to save passwords in my database and make some kind of password recovery by e-mail.
