What I'm trying to do is set up a company website with a store locator on it that looks at the first half of the customers postcode and then finds the 10 closest stores to that postcode.
Just really after some advice on the best way to get the information that I require from the database.. I have seen this page done before in asp classic where on the submit of the page the customers postcode is looked up to get the grid reference and then a second request goes to the database to loop through all the shops to work out the distance between the customer and the store, this information is then placed in an array and wrote to the page when the loop is finished.
Is two record sets the best way to go in asp.net or is there a better way to do it?
I have already got the code to work out the distances between the two postcodes so thats not a issue its just the way I do it that is.
Any advice would be great.
