Let me start off by saying that I?m a newbie to web services and how to have an ASP.NET AJAX page call these services. I?m still learning.
I?m developing a proof-of-concept prototype where we?ll have client script in an ASP.NET AJAX page call a web service to get some values and display them on the page. Pretty straight forward.
I?ve created a VS2008 solution that contains two projects?one project is a class library that is my web service project (it contains the .asmx file), and the other one is a web application project that contains my ASP.NET page(s). I created a web reference from the web application project to the web service project. This created a reference with a .wsdl file in my web application.
Now the issue comes in trying to access the web methods in the web service using AJAX client script in a web page. Every example/sample that I?ve read or tried always seems to reference the .asmx file directly bec ...
