On an aspx page I had a control defined: -
<asp:Button ID="btnPrev" runat="server" Style="position: relative" Text="Prev" />
I changed this to
<asp:Button ID="btnPrev" runat="server" Style="position: relative" Text="<Prev" />
and suddenly btnPrev ceased working. When clicked the the button, then in production the page simply failed with an error message: -
"A potential dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (/ctl100$contentplaceholder1$btnprev="<prev").
