I am going to have a web app that stores dates and tasks that will send an email to the task owner as the date approches. I know how to send a dot net email in an app, I just don't know how to make sure the IIS server knows to send it. For example, you could have a desktop app run in a tray, but a IIS is not always running in the tray. Please suggest an area of training for me that will help me acheive my goal.
