I'm writing a new .NET 3.5 Web application that lets the user create "Plans". Each Plan is saved to an underlying SQL Server database, and manifests in the UI using various standard UI widgets - including text boxes, drop-down lists, check boxes, radio buttons, and a relatively simple grid.
A Plan can proceed through verious states, from "new" to "closed"
When the Plan is in the "closed" state, I would like for the Web app to show the Plan, but also to prevent further changes to the Plan.
I would like to re-use the original data-entry Web form for all states the Plan can proceed through; and allow for data entry/updates unless the Plan is in the "closed" state. When in the "closed" state, all the UI widgets would show the current values, but the user could not change the values of the widgets.
A minimal solution would simply prevent saves to a Plan if the state is "closed" ...
