I have been studying about profiles.
I have not really seen the benefit of them, since I personalize my site with the use of user.identity and retrieving info from DB based upon UserId
1. Is this method faster?
2. How do profiles get stored and how would I implement them at time of log-in. Can I retrieve user info from a Sql DB and store the pertinent info into the profile?
