I know there are lots of discussion on this topic, but I just want to get a clear idea on what is the best practice to have mixed authentication (Forms and Windows)? I have a fresh new project to work on and I want to lay a good foundation:
Here is the requirement regarding to authentication
1. Users include internal and external
2. Windows authentication will be used for internal user, different domains exist, users will need to type in their domain id's password to get in the system
3. For external users, since they don't have a domain id, they need to register themselves in the system, they will need to type in username/password to get into the system
Is there any existing sample? How do I detect the type of users(internal or external)?
