if checkbox is checked send variables to method

Hi I have a checkbox in which if it is checked a panel with labels and textboxes are visible, however if not then it is not visible. What i am  trying to do is if it is visible the values entered in the textbox are sent back to the database, and if they are not visible some default values are sent back to the database, this is what i have done so far but it doesnt work;
