Application cannot be found

While trying to open a solution in either VS2005 or VS2008 I get:

"The application for project 'C:.......\.csproj' is not installed.

 I've tried reinstalling SP1 for VS2005 to see if this would help, but it hasn't.

 Any ideas on how to resolve this?
