encrypting data list control string value

Hi all,
I'm using ASP.NET data list control to bind the backend  data on my website,
I'm doing like this,
<a href="PlayVideos.aspx?vid=<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "video_id") %>" target="_blank">
here i need to encrypt video_id string value using SHA1 or  MD5. Is it possible to encrypt the above string value?
Can anyone please let me know how can i encrypt the above string?
