I'm trying to set up Windows Authentication for our web app here on our intranet. I've got it working Firefox 2.0, but I'm having some problems getting it working right in IE 7.
If I try to navigate to the app via computer name, for example: http://iis_server/appname/, or even http://iis_server.domain.com/appname, I get repeated popups asking for user name and password. It doesn't accept them.
However, when I navigate directly to the IP address, for example: http://192.168.2.1/appname, it automagically logs me in.
Again, it works perfectly in Firefox 2.0 and when accessed in IE 7 via IP, but any kind of hostname throws it off. I've tried adding the site to "Intranet", "Trusted Sites", etc, making sure that "Automatically login" is set in the IE security options, but it still doesn't work.
Any ideas?
