Hey Gang,
I have been using .net for serveral years now for managing our company's Intranet.  The owners have decided they would like to create a "Mobile" friendly version of our site so our sales guys in the field can pull up certain reports and tools from their smart phones.  Since there is some sensitive information involved here there are two things I'm going to be implementing.
1. I'm changing the site from windows based authentication (Active Directory) to ASP .NET authentiaction with membership roles.
2. I'm converting the site to a secure site.
I've not used the built-in authentication service that web developer creates on the fly.  So I have a couple of questions.
1. How secure is it?  I know I will be disabling the "Registration" page for the site and I will be setting up users manually.  For my purposes though is this built-in authentication fairly secure?  I just don't want to reinvent the wheel.  ...

Go to the complete details ...
