Changing the default design format of an ASP.NET control

If I use an ASP.NET FORMVIEW control and link it to a DATA SOURCE I get a default design in my web form, I mean that what I see in the form is the fields that compose the data source and other things like navigation controls and insert, delete and edit controls if I want them. But the design of the form is straightforward, the field controls are displayed from top to bottom one by one.

 Is it possible to modify the default design? For example, If I have 3 phone fields I want them in one row and not one row per field; or if I have 7 checkboxes (one for each day of the week) I want them also in one or two rows.
